Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Special Teacher to implement the DISHA curriculum and Montessori methodologies tailored to each neurodiverse child's unique needs. The role includes preparing individualized education plans (IEPs), delivering lessons with evidence-based approaches such as Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and sensory integration, and fostering academic, social, and behavioral growth.
Responsibilities
- Execute the DISHA and Montessori curricula, customizing learning plans according to each child's abilities.
- Create and deliver lessons that promote academic and behavioral development for neurodiverse learners.
- Employ ABA and sensory integration techniques to support learning progress.
- Work closely with parents and psychologists to conduct thorough assessments and establish effective IEPs.
- Adapt teaching strategies based on evaluation results and continue monitoring child progress.
- Maintain a nurturing classroom environment with an individualized approach, supporting a ratio of one teacher per eight students.
- Promote positive behaviors through consistent routines and personalized interventions.
- Engage collaboratively with behavioral therapists and staff to ensure cohesive support.
- Provide ongoing feedback and support to parents, addressing concerns and strategies for home learning.
- Keep accurate documentation of attendance, progress, IEPs, and behavior reports in compliance with policies and legal standards.
- Participate actively in professional development, team meetings, and curriculum enhancement initiatives.
