Job description

Overview

This position, exempt from the federal civilian hiring freeze, invites candidates with an accounting or finance background to join the Federal Bureau of Investigation as Special Agents. In this role, you will leverage your analytical and financial skills to combat complex threats including cyberattacks, terrorism, and fraud, critically impacting national security.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute investigations into potential violations of federal laws affecting cybersecurity and public safety.
  • Utilize sound judgment and adaptability to meet the dynamic demands of investigative work.
  • Develop and sustain effective partnerships with a variety of law enforcement entities at federal, state, local, tribal, territorial, and international levels.
  • Maintain physical fitness standards necessary for law enforcement duties readiness.

Candidate Profile

Your foundation in financial analysis, risk management, budgeting, and experience with tools such as R programming, Tableau, and financial accounting provides a unique perspective to the Special Agent role. You will transform data insights into investigative leads and evidence, progressively taking ownership in mission-critical activities.

Qualification Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Ability to obtain Top Secret Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
  • Compliance with FBI Employment Eligibility criteria.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a U.S. accredited institution, preferably in accounting, business administration, finance, or forensic accounting.

Compensation

Salary ranges from $93,749 to $133,200 annually, adjusted with consideration for base, locality, and availability pay.
