Job description
About Vantor and the Role
At Vantor, we innovate spatial intelligence technologies that empower decision-makers and operators to understand current events and anticipate future developments. We seek dedicated problem solvers and innovators eager to collaborate and drive change through technology, joining a mission-focused culture rather than simply a job.
This opportunity is for a Solutions Engineer in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) International Government team. The role focuses on providing technical expertise during pre-sales stages involving GEOINT, spatial intelligence software, satellite imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial data solutions tailored for government, defense, intelligence, and national security clients in the MEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong technical relationships with government, defense, intelligence, and national security clients within MEA.
- Apply domain expertise in GEOINT and spatial intelligence to support critical missions such as ISR, border security, maritime monitoring, infrastructure safeguarding, disaster response, national mapping, defense strategy, and intelligence operations.
- Assess clients' technical environments including existing systems, data architecture, workflows, security constraints, and integration needs.
- Translate operational concepts into clear, actionable technical solutions understandable by clients and executable by internal teams.
- Customize technical communication and partner strategy to accommodate varying country-specific regulations, sovereignty, and procurement complexities within MEA.
- Execute full technical sales cycle: discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, technical validation, proposal support, and handover to delivery teams.
- Deliver customized product demonstrations, technical briefings, workshops, and proofs-of-concept aligned to customer missions.
- Design integrated spatial intelligence solutions combining software platforms, satellite data, AI-based analytics, APIs, third-party data, and partner capabilities.
- Support tender responses and proposals with technical content including RFIs, RFPs, compliance documents, and Statements of Work.
- Facilitate customer trials, acceptance testing, and field demonstrations at diverse locations including secure sites and partner facilities.
- Provide hands-on technical troubleshooting during demonstrations, evaluations, and early deployment stages.
- Enable deployment in diverse environments like sovereign/private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, low-bandwidth, disconnected, and edge computing setups.
- Engage with regional partners, integrators, resellers, and contractors on joint solutions and customer engagements.
- Act as liaison between MEA sales teams and internal product, engineering, and services units to channel customer insights, competitive intelligence, and deployment feedback.
- Contribute reusable assets such as demo materials, solution playbooks, and best practices to accelerate team execution and regional effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Minimum 5 years experience in solutions engineering, technical sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, geospatial or defense technology sectors, or related technical customer-facing roles.
- Strong foundation in imagery analysis, spatial intelligence, ISR, national security, or comparable mission workflows.
- Proven expertise supporting tender processes, technical proposals, RFIs, RFPs, compliance, and Statements of Work.
- Ability to guide technical sales from discovery through validation to delivery handoff.
- Experience with complex software, geospatial data, imagery analytics, APIs, cloud and hybrid deployments.
- Skilled in supporting API integrations, system interoperability, and software platform incorporation into client environments.
- Capable of translating operational requirements into pragmatic, secure technical solutions.
- Proficient in conducting technical demos, briefings, workshops, and proof-of-concepts for diverse audiences.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with Sales, Architects, Product, Engineering, Services, and partners.
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Willingness to travel approximately 25–30% across MEA, with possible peaks up to 50%.
Preferred Skills
- Master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, AI, Systems or Computer Science, or related advanced discipline.
- Experience engaging with Ministries of Defense, national security, or intelligence agencies within the MEA region.
- Knowledge of military intelligence workflows, ISR operations, collection management, all-source analysis, operational planning, or command and control systems.
- Familiarity with satellite imagery platforms, GEOINT, GIS systems, spatial analytics, data fusion, and mission intelligence processes.
- Expertise in applying AI/ML for operational scenarios such as object detection, change monitoring, predictive analysis, and intelligence-centric workflows.
- Experience managing deployments in sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, or disconnected environments.
- Understanding of 3D terrain data formats (DEM/DTED, Cesium 3D Tiles) and coordinate systems like WGS84 and UTM.
- Knowledge of geospatial standards, APIs, SDKs, data formats, and integration practices including OGC services, REST APIs, streaming data, 3D terrain and imagery-derived products.
- Language skills in Arabic, French, or other pertinent regional languages are advantageous.
