Job description

About Vantor

Vantor builds spatial intelligence capabilities that help decision-makers and operators understand the present and prepare for what comes next. The company is focused on solving complex problems, enabling customers to view the world in new ways, and giving its team the chance to work on meaningful, mission-driven challenges.

Role Overview

Vantor is hiring a mission-oriented Solutions Engineer to support its Middle East and Africa International Government business. This is a customer-facing technical position that contributes to pre-sales activity across GEOINT, spatial intelligence software, satellite imagery, AI-powered analytics, geospatial data, and mission solutions for government, defense, intelligence, and national security customers in the MEA region.

The right candidate will combine strong GEOINT expertise, practical technical credibility, and the ability to turn mission needs into effective, differentiated solutions. You will work closely with Sales, Solutions Architects, regional partners, system integrators, Product, Engineering, and Services to shape opportunities, run demonstrations, validate technical fit, and help customers move from ideas to operational outcomes.

This is a role for someone who can go beyond scripted demos. MEA customers work in environments shaped by national security priorities, sovereignty demands, complex procurement processes, and urgent mission requirements. The position calls for someone who can think technically, act commercially, and remain composed when solutions must perform in real-world conditions.

Why This Role Matters

Customers in the MEA government space operate in high-pressure mission settings where speed, trust, clarity, and technical depth are essential. They need more than a product walkthrough; they need a partner who can understand the mission, connect capabilities across the Vantor portfolio, and bring AI-enabled spatial intelligence into day-to-day workflows and operations.

The Solutions Engineer will join a regional technical team expected to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers. You will work with military, government, intelligence, partner, and technical stakeholders to progress opportunities from interest to confidence, from concept to demonstration, and from demonstration to operational value.

Location and Travel

This position is based in the Middle East and Africa region and supports customers, partners, and internal teams across the area. Regular travel throughout MEA is required, along with occasional trips to other Vantor offices, customer locations, partner sites, command centers, and field environments.

What You Will Do

As a Solutions Engineer, MEA, you will support the technical sales cycle for International Government customers across the region. Your work will include qualifying opportunities, conducting technical discovery, delivering customized demonstrations, supporting proof-of-concepts, shaping solution designs, answering tenders, and providing the technical assurance needed to help win business.

You will partner with Sales and Solutions Architects to understand customer missions, align Vantor capabilities to operational workflows, and design solutions that are practical, secure, differentiated, and ready for deployment. You will also act as a key channel for customer feedback into Product, Engineering, Services, and regional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong technical relationships with government, defense, intelligence, public safety, and national security stakeholders throughout MEA.
  • Use GEOINT and spatial intelligence expertise to support missions such as ISR, border security, maritime domain awareness, critical infrastructure protection, disaster response, national mapping, defense planning, and intelligence operations.
  • Evaluate customer environments, including current systems, data structures, workflows, security needs, hosting limitations, integration options, and mission objectives.
  • Convert customer operational ideas into clear technical solution concepts that are understandable for customers and executable for internal teams.
  • Adapt technical messaging, deployment assumptions, partner strategy, and engagement style to the realities of each country and mission context within MEA.
  • Support the complete pre-sales journey, including discovery, positioning, demos, proof-of-concepts, technical validation, proposal support, and handoff to delivery.
  • Create and deliver tailored product demonstrations, technical briefings, workshops, and proof-of-concepts that connect Vantor’s capabilities to real mission needs.
  • Work with Sales and Solutions Architects to qualify opportunities, identify technical win themes, evaluate solution fit, and prioritize the most strategic pursuits.
  • Design and support end-to-end spatial intelligence solutions that combine software platforms, satellite imagery, geospatial data, AI analytics, APIs, partner capabilities, and third-party data.
  • Provide technical input for RFIs, RFPs, tenders, compliance matrices, proposal text, Statements of Work, and customer-facing solution descriptions.
  • Support customer trials, evaluations, acceptance tests, and field demonstrations at customer sites, secure facilities, partner labs, and operational locations.
  • Deliver practical troubleshooting and hands-on technical support during evaluations, demos, and early deployments.
  • Contribute to deployment approaches spanning sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, low-bandwidth, disconnected, and edge-based environments.
  • Help define solutions that account for API integrations, data pipelines, authentication, security controls, interoperability, latency, bandwidth, and operational limits.
  • Collaborate with regional partners, system integrators, resellers, and prime contractors on joint solution design, demonstrations, and customer engagement.
  • Serve as a technical bridge between MEA Sales teams and Product, Engineering, Services, Operations, and Enablement teams.
  • Bring structured field intelligence back to the business, including customer needs, competitor insights, product gaps, localization requirements, deployment obstacles, and new mission patterns.
  • Contribute reusable regional demo assets, solution playbooks, technical knowledge, competitive intelligence, and best practices that help the team work faster and smarter.

Required Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in Geospatial/GIS, Remote Sensing, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in solutions engineering, technical sales, systems engineering, solution architecture, geospatial solutions, defense technology, intelligence systems, software platforms, or another customer-facing technical function.
  • Strong background in imagery, geospatial analytics, spatial intelligence, ISR, national security, or closely related mission workflows.
  • Experience supporting tenders, RFIs, RFPs, compliance matrices, proposal content, Statements of Work, or technical evaluation processes.
  • Proven ability to support technical selling through discovery, qualification, solution design, demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, proposal support, technical validation, and transition to delivery.
  • Experience with complex software, geospatial data, imagery, analytics, APIs, cloud, hybrid, on-premises, or mission platform solutions.
  • Experience working on API integrations, data interoperability, system-to-system workflows, or integrating software platforms into customer environments.
  • Ability to translate customer requirements and operational workflows into clear and credible technical approaches.
  • Experience presenting technical demonstrations, customer briefings, workshops, or proof-of-concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, Solutions Architects, Product, Engineering, Services, partners, and customers in a matrixed environment.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to travel across MEA, averaging about 25–30%, with peaks that may reach 50%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A master’s degree in Geospatial Sciences, Remote Sensing, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Systems Engineering, or a related area.
  • Experience working with Ministries of Defence, national security agencies, or defense and intelligence organizations in the Middle East and/or Africa.
  • Knowledge of military intelligence workflows, ISR operations, collection management, all-source analysis, operational planning, or command-and-control environments.
  • Hands-on exposure to satellite imagery, remote sensing, GEOINT platforms, GIS systems, spatial analytics, data fusion, or mission intelligence workflows.
  • Experience using AI/ML for operational use cases such as computer vision, object detection, change detection, predictive monitoring, multi-source analysis, or intelligence-focused workflows.
  • Experience deploying or integrating software across sovereign cloud, private cloud, on-premises, hybrid, air-gapped, disconnected, or edge environments.
  • Familiarity with 3D terrain data formats such as DEM/DTED and Cesium 3D Tiles, as well as coordinate systems like WGS84 and UTM.
  • Working knowledge of geospatial standards, APIs, SDKs, data formats, and integration methods, including OGC services, REST APIs, streaming data, raster/vector data, 3D terrain, or imagery-derived products.
  • Arabic, French, or another regionally relevant language.
