Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive safety and risk assessments.
• Confidently lead meetings (hui) with care.
• Create customized, strength-based, and culturally relevant plans.
• Enhance the dignity (mana) of whānau in every interaction.
• Collaborate genuinely with iwi, hapū, Māori organizations, community groups, and government bodies to build lasting Whakapapa (connections).

Candidate Profile

• Full registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (or eligibility to register).
• Possession of an accredited social work qualification.
• Demonstrated commitment to a strengths-based practice methodology.
• Possession of a valid, clean New Zealand driver’s licence (prior convictions considered case-by-case).
• Strong dedication to collaborative partnership with whānau.
• Preferred: Experience in statutory social work, excellent communication, resilience, cultural competence, knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pasifika cultures, and proficiency in documentation and digital tools.
