About the Role
This position is primarily based in New York, NY, with additional possible locations including Playa Vista, CA campus, Chicago, IL, Los Angeles, CA, and San Bruno, CA. The role adheres to the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance and California Fair Chance Act for applicants with prior arrest or conviction records in relevant locations.
The Social Strategist will be an integral part of YouTube Marketing, aiming to enhance the connection between users and YouTube's products and creators by crafting compelling narratives and marketing initiatives for consumers, creators, and influencers. This role emphasizes data-driven social marketing strategies to build scalable frameworks and enhance the efficiency and impact of social campaigns across YouTube's brand and social marketing.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop reproducible frameworks, activation methods, and playbooks to enhance YouTube Marketing's agility and speed to market.
- Collaborate with Editorial and Campaign teams to sustain an active brand presence through organic social channels and support major campaign activations, as well as partner with regional teams to replicate efforts globally and assist local executions.
- Lead initiative-based social strategies and provide expert guidance alongside campaign leaders for key product areas.
- Coordinate with analysts to monitor social media outcomes, optimize campaigns in real time, and generate performance reports with actionable recommendations.
- Work closely with Google Brand Studio to derive and share YouTube performance insights for broader business applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of six years’ experience in social marketing roles.
- Proven ability to design and implement data-driven social strategies and playbooks for global brands.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Skilled in analyzing relevant data for informed decision-making and tailored storytelling, including communications to executive leadership.
- Deep knowledge of social platforms, especially the YouTube ecosystem, content formats, algorithm trends, creators, and culture, plus experience managing paid social campaigns.
- Ability to independently lead global projects involving many stakeholders within a complex organizational structure.

Compensation for US positions ranges from $141,000 to $206,000 annually, complemented by a 15% bonus target, equity awards, and benefits.
