Role Overview
We are looking for a strategic, creative, and detail-driven Social Media Marketing Lead who will own all social media efforts and spearhead social-first strategies within the global marketing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement social media campaigns from initial idea through to analytics and results measurement.
- Collaborate on partner and product launches by coordinating social media content and promotional efforts, including managing phased marketing campaigns linked to these launches.
- Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring integrated digital marketing initiatives spanning social media, email marketing, events, and other channels.
- Manage quick-turnaround partner and product launches with attention to maintaining content quality.
- Work in tandem with regional marketing and paid social teams to ensure campaign consistency and support during major launches.
- Scout, evaluate, and oversee brand presence on emerging social media platforms.
- Conduct social listening to monitor sentiment, identify trends, and guide content and campaign strategies.
- Handle daily social media management and content generation across all Walrus Foundation channels.
- Develop and expand the Walrus YouTube channel through a content roadmap, scheduling, and content optimization to maximize audience reach.
- Create and maintain a structured content calendar featuring recurring content formats that ensure consistent channel activity.
- Craft and refine compelling social copy tailored for diverse platforms and target audiences.
- Organize, schedule, and execute Walrus-hosted live audio sessions (X Spaces).
- Amplify executive leadership messages via social media in collaboration with communications and executive social teams.
- Support leadership social media accounts through content strategy, writing, and engagement efforts.
- Identify and nurture relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and content creators to broaden campaign impact and authenticity.
- Coordinate creator-generated content for marketing campaigns, product launches, and events.
- Lead social media engagement efforts during events to boost visibility and participation.
- Support planning and operational execution of marketing events such as conferences, in-person activations, and sponsorships, including logistical and design considerations.
- Drive marketing projects from ideation through completion by working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to meet deadlines.
- Maintain editorial and project schedules to guarantee timely delivery of campaign elements.
- Assist with email marketing campaigns, including drip marketing sequences, audience list management, content development, and performance tracking.
- Collaborate closely with diverse teams including Design, Developer Relations, Education, Growth, Product Marketing, Partner Marketing, and Communications to align marketing strategies with overarching business goals.
- Ensure transparent and effective communication both internally and with partners to present consistent messaging.
Qualifications & Skills
- 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience managing social media marketing, with a proven track record of owning brand social channels.
- Proven ability to work with Key Opinion Leaders and creators, including identifying talent, relationship building, and overseeing campaign content.
- Experience using social listening tools to interpret audience feedback and shape content strategies.
- Expertise in managing drip or lifecycle social marketing campaigns connected to product and partner launches.
- Background supporting executive or leadership communications on social platforms.
- Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities, adept at juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient with marketing and social management software, including social listening tools, email marketing platforms, and content management systems.
- Solid grasp of digital marketing fundamentals such as copywriting, SEO, PPC, and data analytics.
- Creative thinker with excellent problem-solving aptitude and attention to detail.
- Highly self-motivated, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
