Job description
Role overview
This position is for a Social Media Manager who will own the full social presence across TikTok and Instagram. The role blends personal branding, short-form video production, and organic audience growth. You’ll take the client’s raw ideas and shape them into polished, premium content while helping establish a strong, education-led brand from scratch.
About the client
The client is a life insurance professional serving families and union members. The brand direction is intentionally selective and high-end, designed more like an invite-only community than a broad consumer page. The aim is to build a trustworthy, refined online presence that attracts the right people organically and converts interest into referrals.
Responsibilities
- Create and own a complete social media plan for TikTok and Instagram, starting from a blank slate.
- Set the content themes, brand positioning, and posting rhythm.
- Transform the client’s ideas into well-produced short-form content.
- Handle the full content workflow, including Reels, TikToks, Shorts, graphics, captions, and written copy.
- Lead the personal brand refresh and shape a consistent, premium, education-first identity.
- Develop content that explains life insurance, family protection, and generational wealth in a clear, approachable, non-pushy way.
- Increase organic reach to generate inbound interest, community engagement, and referrals.
- Monitor engagement, share performance updates, and iterate the strategy based on results.
Requirements
- Demonstrated success growing TikTok and Instagram accounts, supported by a portfolio and measurable outcomes.
- Strong capability in short-form video, including concepting, directing shoots, and editing.
- Comfortable producing graphics, captions, and marketing copy.
- Experience building personal brands or founder-led brands, including repositioning or rebranding work.
- An eye for premium, aspirational visual style that feels curated rather than generic or corporate.
- Ability to simplify educational or technical subjects into engaging content; experience in finance or insurance is advantageous.
- Preference for organic, community-driven, and referral-based growth instead of paid advertising.
- Adaptable, self-starting, and collaborative, with the ability to take direction and execute independently.
- Must be available during EST working hours.
