Job description
About the Role
This opening is for a part-time freelance social media manager who will help shape and grow a premium stationery brand’s online presence. The core focus is Instagram, with Pinterest as a supporting platform. The work involves planning content, producing and editing short-form video, repurposing community-created content, and tracking performance to support ongoing brand growth. The role is remote, and while candidates based in Melbourne are preferred, applicants from other locations may also be considered.
You’ll work directly with the founder and be given room to bring creative ideas to life, as long as the output stays aligned with the brand’s established identity and values. The brand emphasizes intentional living, analog tools, and a calm, sensory, minimal aesthetic.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage an ongoing content calendar for Instagram and Pinterest.
- Produce, film, and edit Reels and other visual assets for social channels.
- Adapt user-generated content so it fits the brand’s style and guidelines.
- Draft clear, engaging captions and post copy that match the brand tone.
- Use social scheduling tools to queue, publish, and manage posts.
- Track social performance, interpret the data, and share regular reports.
- Coordinate with the founder to keep content aligned with wider brand goals.
- Preserve a consistent visual look and feel across all channels.
Requirements
- Previous experience running social media for premium, lifestyle, or similar brands.
- Strong ability to create content, including filming and editing short-form videos such as Reels.
- Working knowledge of Canva and tools used for scheduling social posts.
- Hands-on experience with Pinterest is a strong advantage.
- Excellent writing skills, especially for captions and brand-focused copy.
- Ability to create content that feels calm, understated, minimal, and sensory.
- Good grasp of social media analytics, tracking, and reporting.
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working independently.
- Preferred location is Melbourne, though remote applicants will be reviewed.
- Availability for about 10 to 15 hours each month on an ongoing basis.
