Position Summary
Relatable is looking for a Social Media Manager to own the everyday execution of its social presence while supporting broader growth goals. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Senior Director of Digital Growth & Social Commerce to turn brand and sales priorities into social strategies that build awareness, spark engagement, and support launches and seasonal campaigns.
This is a hands-on, high-output position for someone who is highly self-directed, manages priorities with little supervision, and can keep several projects moving at once. The ideal person brings a strategic mindset, strong creative instincts, a quick wit, and a talent for writing platform-native copy that stands out. You should be deeply comfortable making content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, editing video, and appearing on camera when needed.
Role Scope
The assignment is a W-2 temporary/freelance engagement for 3 months. There is potential to extend in additional 3-month blocks and possible conversion to a full-time role.
Responsibilities
- Build and roll out social growth plans that support business objectives.
- Work with the Brand and Sales teams to make sure social is built into cross-functional planning.
- Partner with leadership on go-to-market planning so social is ready before launches, retail moments, and seasonal promotions.
- Provide a strong point of view on what helps brands succeed on social, including education, community building, and changing best practices.
- Serve as the internal advocate for the audience and bring a social-first perspective to the wider business.
- Own the social calendar end to end, from planning through publishing.
- Create day-to-day content both behind and in front of the camera, including static posts and short-form video.
- Step in as a visible face of the brand when needed.
- Write sharp, engaging captions, hooks, and copy tailored to each platform.
- Develop shot lists and plan visual assets as needed.
- Shape visual storytelling with attention to lighting, timing, hooks, product usage, and overall aesthetic.
- Keep all social output consistent with brand standards.
- Source, repurpose, and edit UGC and influencer content into brand-friendly messaging.
- Use videography and photography tools such as iPhone, pro cameras, tripods, microphones, lighting, and stabilizers.
- Handle community engagement through comments, direct messages, and brand mentions.
- Encourage real conversations that build loyalty and connection.
- Collect audience feedback and notable mentions, escalating important items to leadership when required.
- Monitor platform trends and adapt them into the brand’s point of view in a thoughtful way.
- Understand platform algorithms, user behavior, and engagement tactics, especially for TikTok and Instagram.
- Weave influencer, affiliate, and UGC content into organic strategy to improve reach and trust.
- Track engagement, audience growth, and campaign performance.
- Prepare monthly reporting with actionable recommendations for content optimization and team visibility.
- Share wins, surface patterns, and identify opportunities to improve and innovate.
- Coordinate with Brand, Creative, Sales, PR, TikTok Shop, Paid, and external agency partners to keep execution aligned.
- Manage asset delivery and campaign timing for launches, promotions, and seasonal efforts.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of hands-on experience managing brand social channels, including content creation, campaign execution, and performance analysis.
- A bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience blending paid, influencer, and UGC content into organic social strategy.
- Background working across agencies and internal creative, paid, and brand teams.
Core Competencies
- Works independently, sets priorities, and meets deadlines without repeated follow-up.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, high-volume content environment.
- Strong platform knowledge and an understanding of what drives engagement and revenue.
- Highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects at once.
- Creative thinker who can turn ideas into original, effective content.
- Excellent copywriter with a sharp voice and a knack for clever language.
- Detail-oriented and able to deliver polished work with minimal oversight.
- Clear communicator who collaborates well across functions.
- Highly trend-aware and quick to adapt.
Benefits & Perks
- Healthcare, vision, and dental coverage with competitive, best-in-class plans.
- FSA and HSA options, with the ability to choose one or the other.
- 401(k) plan with a 3% employer match after 90 days of eligibility.
- Financial planning support and charity matching.
- Paid time off, paid holidays, sick leave, volunteer time, and Summer Fridays.
- ClassPass membership.
- Continuous learning support and dedicated learning hours.
- Remote and hybrid work flexibility.
