Job description

Role overview

This is a full-time, on-site opportunity for a Social Media & Community Specialist working in West Los Angeles, supporting a fast-growing international food and beverage brand. The position reports to the Head of US Marketing and is focused on shaping the brand’s cultural presence for the US market, especially across Instagram and TikTok.

The company operates in the better-for-you space, with products positioned around health, performance, and everyday enjoyment. Its US business is expanding quickly, and the local team is lean, agile, and highly focused on building the brand into a widely recognized household name.

Core responsibilities

You will oversee daily social execution while working closely with the global creative team to keep the brand’s social channels relevant, lively, and consistent with its identity.

  • Set a social-led approach that treats community as an active brand channel rather than only a support inbox.
  • Shape how the brand participates in conversations across all relevant platforms.
  • Act as the internal representative for the community perspective.
  • Manage day-to-day engagement across channels with quick, thoughtful, and brand-aligned responses.
  • Engage naturally with comments, direct messages, mentions, tags, and user-generated content in a way that feels human and culturally aware.
  • Identify strong fan interactions, notable comments, and moments worth amplifying, then translate them into content opportunities.
  • Create original ways for the brand to interact with its audience, including reactive replies, social-first moments, and platform-native conversation ideas.
  • Track sentiment, feedback, and trend shifts to uncover opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop, curate, and publish content that encourages participation, conversation, and stronger emotional connection.
  • Maintain a balanced content calendar across products, lifestyle, culture, ambassadors, events, retail, and e-commerce.
  • Experiment with new formats, storytelling styles, and interactive content to bring the audience closer to the brand.
  • Keep the brand voice consistent while adapting it to humor, trends, and cultural moments when appropriate.
  • Stay closely attuned to platform behavior, emerging trends, and cultural shifts to decide when the brand should join the conversation.
  • Lead timely, reactive content that feels authentic, community-led, and not overly promotional.
  • Support launches, events, partnerships, and ambassador activity before, during, and after each activation.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate is highly plugged into online culture, has a strong visual eye, and understands that social media is about more than posting — it is about storytelling, relevance, and real connection.

You should be able to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities, with a sharp sense for aesthetics, tone, and timing. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment, enjoys solving problems quickly, and is motivated by building content people genuinely want to engage with.

Extra advantage will go to candidates with an interest in sports, wellness, or performance culture, and those who have worked with influencers.

Experience and skills required

  • At least 2 years of experience in social media, marketing, or brand support.
  • Strong working knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, including current trends, content formats, and platform best practices.
  • Prior exposure to CPG, food and beverage, lifestyle, or wellness brands is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Sharp visual judgment and close attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort working across functions in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
  • Strong interest in culture, brand development, and digital storytelling.

Additional notes

This role is for one of the client’s brands. The position is based in West Los Angeles and requires five days per week in the office.

Applicants who are especially familiar with sports, wellness, or performance culture may be a stronger fit.

Experience with influencers is considered a plus.
