Role Overview
SCT is recruiting a Social Marketing and Communications Specialist with at least five years of relevant experience to support the Department of the Army (DA) Headquarters, specifically the G-1 Directorate of Prevention, Resilience and Readiness (DPRR). This role focuses on social marketing efforts to promote physical and mental health, resilience, and readiness among Soldiers, Families, and DA Civilians.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement communication strategies, social marketing campaigns, outreach materials, and awareness initiatives to ensure DPRR's strategic messages reach target audiences effectively and with the intended frequency and impact.
- Manage DPRR’s Bi-Monthly Newsletter (typically 12–16 pages), including tracking deadlines and submissions, liaising with graphic designers and editors for layout, and writing articles as necessary.
- Provide subject matter expertise on strategic communications and marketing to support the client’s objectives.
- Collaborate with team members to prepare deliverables such as project briefings, newsletters, study findings, reports, conclusions, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- At least five years’ experience leading social marketing campaigns, particularly on topics like suicide prevention, sexual assault prevention, substance abuse prevention, and tobacco cessation, or in communications, public affairs, social media, or public relations.
- Bachelor’s degree in mass communication, marketing, advertising, public relations, health communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Thorough understanding of social marketing stages and benchmark criteria.
- Preferred experience working with Army or Department of the Army initiatives.
Required Skillsets
- Proven project management or newsroom experience.
- Fluency with AP Style guidelines.
- U.S. citizenship, as required by contract.
- Experience with federal contracts is advantageous.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and Zoom.
- Strong organizational capabilities and interpersonal skills, with a solid work ethic.
- Self-motivated with demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Professional client interaction skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Potential requirement to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
Additional Information
Salary range for this full-time position is $95,000 to $112,000 annually. The role is remote and does not include supervisory responsibilities.
