Position Summary

Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Skilled Labourer will handle carpentry-related tasks and help maintain quality across a large multifamily build. The role also includes keeping the site tidy, assisting with general maintenance, and ensuring work meets local building code standards as well as company safety expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow building code rules and company safety standards at all project sites
  • Carry out carpentry tasks not covered by subcontractors
  • Monitor subcontractor work on site
  • Complete touch-ups and correct deficiencies left by subcontractors
  • Carry out frame inspections and mechanical checks
  • Perform finish carpentry duties
  • Take part in quality inspections and document findings
  • Escalate site issues to the superintendent as they arise
  • Use power tools confidently, including air nailers, circular saws, and screw guns
  • Support and coach less experienced workers
  • Handle other duties assigned by the site foreman or superintendent

Requirements

  • Finish carpentry experience is preferred
  • Experience operating equipment such as a zoom boom or skid steer is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of building code and safety code requirements
  • Strong organization, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build productive relationships with subcontractors and site workers
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
  • Results-focused with strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Own vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required
