Key duties
Reporting to the Site Superintendent, the Skilled Labourer will carry out carpentry-related tasks, help maintain quality standards on a large multifamily build, and support site upkeep and cleanliness. The role also requires ensuring work aligns with local building codes and internal safety policies.
- Follow building code requirements and company safety rules across all job sites
- Complete carpentry tasks that are outside the scope of subcontractors
- Monitor subcontractor work and provide oversight
- Carry out touch-ups and repairs for subcontractor deficiencies
- Perform frame checks and mechanical checks
- Handle finish carpentry work
- Support quality inspections and document findings
- Escalate site concerns to the superintendent as they arise
- Use power tools confidently, including air nailers, skill saws, and screw guns
- Guide and support less experienced workers
- Take on additional duties assigned by the site foreman or site superintendent
Requirements
- Prior finish carpentry experience is considered an advantage
- Experience operating equipment such as a zoom boom or skid steer is an asset
- Working knowledge of building codes and safety requirements
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with subcontractors and site personnel
- Good time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Results-driven approach with strong attention to detail
- Ability to maintain high quality standards
- Comfort working in a cross-functional team environment
- Own vehicle required
- Valid driver’s licence required
