Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Construction Site Superintendent to oversee field operations for custom residential and cottage projects primarily in Northwestern Ontario and Winnipeg. This role, based in Winnipeg, requires managing daily site activities, coordinating subcontractors, ensuring quality standards, monitoring timelines and budgets, and traveling regularly to remote sites with occasional overnight stays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily site operations from initial excavation through project completion, ensuring structural quality and integrity.
  • Plan and supervise the scheduling and work of subcontractors, suppliers, and internal crews to maintain efficient project progress.
  • Travel frequently to project locations in Northwestern Ontario, including overnight stays as necessary during critical phases.
  • Devise and enforce quality control measures adhering to Manitoba and Ontario building codes, project plans, and specifications.
  • Implement and monitor workplace safety policies in compliance with provincial OH&S regulations, maintaining a safe and tidy job site.
  • Communicate regularly with clients and management by providing updates, photographs, and flagging risks or potential delays.
  • Manage material deliveries, inventory tracking, and inspect deliveries to prevent schedule interruptions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience as Site Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent in residential or custom cottage construction, light commercial experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel with overnight stays in Northwestern Ontario.
  • Solid understanding of National, Manitoba, and Ontario Building Codes.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, architectural and structural drawings.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills for managing sub-trades, inspectors, and clients.
