About the Role
As a Shift Supervisor at Starbucks Store #22606 located at Topsail Road & Burgeo Street, you will support the store manager by overseeing store operations during your scheduled shift. You will lead the team by assigning tasks and managing partner deployment to deliver the renowned Starbucks Experience. This includes providing outstanding customer service with timely delivery of quality beverages and products, and maintaining an inviting and clean environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold Starbucks' values by acting with integrity, honesty, and knowledge.
- Maintain composure during busy times to ensure smooth store operation and set a positive tone for the team.
- Proactively assess customer and store needs through observation and communication.
- Provide timely information to the store manager enabling the team to foster a welcoming "Third Place" atmosphere.
- Support new partner training by offering constructive feedback and encouragement.
- Report partner performance to the store manager during shifts.
- Promote a positive team environment by identifying changes in morale and communicating appropriately.
- Deliver clear, respectful coaching to improve partner performance and operational standards.
- Ensure legendary customer service with a customer-first mindset, anticipating and addressing customer needs.
- Build strong relationships with shift team members by understanding their motivations and concerns.
- Manage store operations effectively during your shifts, including opening and closing duties.
- Adhere strictly to Starbucks policies on cash handling, safety, and security to protect all partners.
- Enforce cash register procedures and supervise the shift team’s compliance.
- Follow up with baristas to maintain high customer service standards.
- Attend work punctually and consistently.
- Prepare beverages and food products according to Starbucks quality and presentation standards.
- Comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations in product handling.
- Acknowledge and reward individual and team achievements using organizational tools and innovative methods alongside the store manager.
- Use operational resources to achieve excellence during shifts.
Experience and Skills Required
- Prior experience in a customer service role within retail or restaurant settings.
- Capability to supervise and direct team members.
- Quick learner with effective communication skills.
- Familiarity with retail operations.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork ability.
