Job description
Role Overview
This position involves ensuring the safe and efficient functioning of the depot by continuously monitoring alarms and alerts from various sub-systems and taking prompt actions. It requires coordination with field officers, security personnel, and external agencies during irregular hours to manage security, safety, and emergency situations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with field officers stationed at the Tank Farm, Rail Siding, Gantry, as well as external organizations like the Railways, State Fire Department, and Security agencies.
- Supervise the timely placement and removal of railway rakes to support ongoing depot operations.
- Ensure safe unloading (decantation) of products from railway wagons, including oversight of maintenance works and the integrity of the Fire & Gas system.
- Manage the receipt process of products from railway wagons, including reconciliation, sampling, and authorizing release to the market.
- Oversee maintenance activities, control work-permit systems, and maintain interlock system integrity.
- Handle panel operations for tank farm and road gantry, planning and coordinating receipt and dispatch schedules with field officers.
- Continuously monitor tank, pump, and valve alignments to guarantee accurate receipt and dispatch flows.
- Supervise truck tanker deliveries from gantry bays, ensuring the safe and timely loading operations with corrective action on exceptions in loading.
- Maintain vigilance on the fire water system by monitoring the healthiness of the network and activating pumps and support systems as needed.
- Accurately maintain comprehensive records such as product receipt registers, logbooks, trip bypass registers, and control room housekeeping.
- Track and communicate exceptions during road loading, including BCU over-run incidences, to initiate corrective measures promptly.
- Document and keep a record of all communication with external support systems during odd hours.
- Conduct emergency shutdown (ESD) and logic testing in partnership with field officers and maintenance teams according to scheduled plans.
- Perform routine inspections of the fire water system.
- Effectively manage onsite emergencies, coordinating efforts with security, state fire authorities, health services, maintenance crews, operations in-charges, and installation managers.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science is mandatory.
- Proven practical experience working with control panels, PLC systems, and emergency protocols.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, with a total professional background spanning between 7 to 10 years.
