The Singapore Business Product Management team at Shopee supports sellers and buyers from around the world in the Singapore marketplace. This group sits within the Singapore team and focuses on delivering the strongest possible e-commerce experience for Singapore customers while keeping solutions cost-efficient. Role overview
The Business Product Manager - Operations will collaborate with operations, regional, and functional stakeholders to translate business needs into product and process solutions. The position involves improving cost experience, strengthening operational productivity, building roadmaps, supporting implementation, and ensuring new solutions are adopted effectively.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the Singapore Operations team and regional partners to uncover business needs and identify new strategic opportunities for improving cost efficiency and operational output.
- Spot opportunities to apply emerging technologies and process enhancements, run proof-of-concept pilots in Singapore, and expand successful ideas more broadly where suitable.
- Create and roll out outcome-focused products and roadmaps that support strategic priorities and generate measurable business results.
- Partner with functional leaders to understand business context and evaluate impact, then prepare clear Business Requirement Documents or FRFs/BRDs that simplify the solution for business alignment and engineering reference.
- Build the Singapore Operations product roadmap from internal and external stakeholder input, and prioritize features using data, business value, impact, technical feasibility, development capacity, and delivery timelines.
- Lead user acceptance testing and oversee live releases, including rollout planning with business stakeholders, risk reduction measures, and clear tracking of key risks and mitigation actions.
- Support implementation and adoption through internal training, deployment planning, ongoing operational support, and feedback collection.
- Own the product lifecycle by analyzing adoption and improvement data, monitoring KPIs, and recommending further enhancements.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Mathematics, Industrial Systems Engineering, another engineering discipline, or a closely related area.
- Helpful knowledge of business functions and/or information systems, including topics such as information flow and data structures.
- Strong analytical ability, with SQL and Python considered an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong logical thinking and problem-solving ability, plus the independence to work proactively and the discipline to follow through on complex initiatives.
- Comfort working in a fast-changing environment while handling several competing priorities at once.
