About the Opportunity

Join Sandvik Mining as a Technical Specialist located in Waihi, New Zealand. This permanent, full-time role is vital in maintaining the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Sandvik equipment. Acting as the main interface between Sandvik and customers, you will provide exceptional technical support and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent high-quality services.
• Collaborate with site teams to enhance maintenance procedures and optimise equipment use.
• Perform diagnostics and fault-finding to quickly resolve technical challenges.
• Share field knowledge and feedback to support ongoing product enhancements.
• Keep precise service documentation and adhere to company standards.
• Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and promote safe working practices.
• Take accountability for the quality and results of your work to boost reliability and customer trust.

Candidate Profile

• Trade certification in Heavy Duty Mechanical or Auto Electrical fields.
• Hands-on experience in servicing and fault diagnosis of heavy machinery.
• Strong skills in hydraulic and electrical systems maintenance.
• Proven background in repairing mining equipment such as drill rigs, loaders, and trucks, particularly Sandvik machinery.
• Aptitude for diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
• Commitment to high-quality workmanship aligning with OEM standards.
• Strong safety awareness and strict adherence to environmental health and safety standards.
• Self-driven, reliable, and capable of working independently or collaboratively in teams.

Desired Skills: Familiarity with maintenance management systems, service reporting, root cause analysis, continuous improvement initiatives, effective communication, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and knowledge of warranty and OEM service processes.

Additional Information

The work schedule follows a roster of four days on duty followed by three days off. Candidates based in Australia willing to relocate to Waihi are encouraged to apply; Sandvik offers support for relocation and career growth in New Zealand.
