Overview
This role offers an exciting leadership opportunity for a driven Service Manager to oversee the operational delivery of Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, and Clinical Health Psychology services at The Royal London Hospital. The Neurosciences Directorate unites specialized teams focused on treating complex neurological and spinal disorders, including Neurosurgery, Spinal Surgery, Neurology, Neurophysiology, Stroke, and Psychology. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary network, they aim to offer coordinated, high-quality care throughout the patient's journey.
Key Responsibilities
As the Service Manager, you will take charge of the operational leadership and development of the Directorate's surgical specialties alongside Clinical Health Psychology services. This involves managing day-to-day neurosurgical and spinal patient pathways to ensure timely, safe, and effective treatments. You will support clinical teams in continually enhancing outcomes and patient experience.
Specific Duties
- Provide effective operational management and service support for Neurosurgery and Spinal Surgery, partnering with Clinical Directors, Lead Clinicians, Senior Nurses, and General Managers to maintain high clinical and performance standards.
- Lead and drive projects aimed at improving service delivery and enhancing patient satisfaction.
- Ensure all performance and quality targets are consistently met.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve service-related challenges, developing sustainable solutions in close cooperation with clinical colleagues.
- Act as a vital participant in the Divisional Management Team with full accountability for assigned actions and keeping colleagues informed.
- Manage and lead a team within the division to achieve service objectives.
