Role Overview
The Service Engineer will undertake diesel engine maintenance tasks worldwide across multiple locations, working closely with team leads and technicians to deliver expert technical support. Responsibilities include maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhauls, and inspections on diesel engines, generators, and auxiliary systems both at workshop and field sites including onshore and offshore.

Key Tasks
- Maintain, repair, overhaul, and service high-speed diesel generators, marine engines, and turbochargers.
- Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA) before work commencement, use Personal Protective Equipment correctly, and comply with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines and company policies.
- Prepare for major service assignments by verifying availability of spare parts, tools, materials, and scheduling services accordingly.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and reports to ensure precise execution of tasks.
- Plan and manage onsite work procedures, coordinate manpower and assemblies, and mentor service technicians and engineers.
- Provide expert technical support to customers, including assembly/disassembly coordination and preventive maintenance advice.
- Execute commissioning, performance testing, troubleshooting, diagnose equipment issues and suggest corrective actions.
- Generate detailed service reports, utilize both standard and specialized software tools, analyze maintenance data for improvements.
- Report and investigate any incidents, accidents or near misses following company protocols.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment, marine, or power plant sectors.
- Experience in health & safety, quality control, and service job management.
- Proficient product knowledge of MAN high-speed engines (including model 175D), Caterpillar, Perkins, MTU, Deutz, Cummins, or YANMAR engines.
- Good grasp of technical and commercial business considerations.
- Competence in work preparation, basic project management, and leadership skills.
- Availability and willingness for international travel.
- Ability to produce technical documentation using Microsoft Office applications.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with engine auxiliaries such as separators, coolers, and filters.
- Experience in application engineering.
- Previous team management roles.
- Knowledge of process measuring technologies.
