Job description
Role Overview
Finch is hiring an SEO Lead Specialist to take full ownership of its SEO function and help shape it into a scalable, high-performing practice. This is a senior, hands-on leadership position for someone who has already operated at a department-building level and can set the direction rather than simply execute instructions. The role combines strategic leadership with day-to-day delivery across a multi-client agency setup.
What You’ll Do
- Lead SEO strategy for a group of clients from audit and planning through implementation and performance reporting.
- Develop Finch’s SEO practice by creating documented processes, quality benchmarks, and repeatable frameworks the team can use at scale.
- Guide work across all core SEO areas, including technical SEO, content strategy, and authority-building/link acquisition.
- Use SEO and analytics platforms such as Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Google Search Console to inform action, not just monitor results.
- Present SEO direction, progress, and outcomes in a clear and confident way to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams while balancing several client priorities at the same time.
Why This Role Stands Out
- Join a fully distributed team working across the US, LATAM, Europe, and Asia.
- Your work will have direct impact on client performance from the outset.
- The company emphasizes curiosity, transparency, and accountability, giving people context and room to make decisions.
- Collaborate with experienced teammates across Paid Search, DSP, Creative, Analytics, and Client Success.
- Ongoing learning and experimentation are part of the environment as the organization continues to build.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of SEO experience, including 2–3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Prior agency experience is required, with a history of managing multiple clients and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to own SEO strategy from end to end rather than following a narrow task list.
- Strong knowledge of technical SEO, content strategy, and link building.
- Hands-on experience with Ahrefs, Semrush, Screaming Frog, GA4, and Google Search Console.
- Background in building or reworking an SEO practice, including methodology, standards, and scalable systems.
- Clear, confident communication skills for handling both client-facing and internal leadership discussions.
- Must be based in the US and available to work fully remotely.
Additional Information
This is a remote full-time position. The employer is looking for someone who can lead with structure, create repeatable processes, and bring a builder’s mindset to the role. No stipend, salary range, or start date was provided in the source.
