Role Overview

This leadership position heads the operations function for a fast-growing fintech business delivering institutional digital asset infrastructure and related financial solutions. The company operates on a non-custodial model and serves institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth clients through secure, transparent, technology-led services.

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for shaping operating strategy, strengthening execution, and building the processes and systems needed for scale. The successful candidate will help ensure strong governance, disciplined risk management, and consistent coordination across trading, client service, technology, compliance, finance, and business teams.

Key Responsibilities

As a member of the executive team, this person will lead operational performance and help deliver the organization’s strategic goals through scalable infrastructure, clear controls, and cross-functional alignment.

Operational Strategy and Leadership

  • Create and implement company-wide operating plans that support business goals and long-term expansion.
  • Design infrastructure that can scale as the institutional business grows.
  • Set governance structures, operating standards, and performance expectations.
  • Continuously refine operational practices to improve outcomes across the business.

Enterprise Operations Management

  • Oversee daily performance across multiple business areas.
  • Maintain consistency, efficiency, and service quality in core operations.
  • Develop standard procedures and repeatable operational methods.
  • Prepare the organization for new products, services, and market entry.

Operational Risk and Controls

  • Build and maintain frameworks for operational risk management.
  • Spot weaknesses in processes and put practical mitigations in place.
  • Improve internal controls to support business continuity and resilience.
  • Work closely with Risk and Compliance to stay aligned with regulatory requirements.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Product, Technology, Compliance, Finance, Business Development, Marketing, Risk, and Client Services.
  • Lead major initiatives that require coordination across departments.
  • Ensure execution stays aligned with company strategy and client needs.
  • Encourage effective collaboration among executive and functional leaders.

Process Improvement and Scalability

  • Review business workflows to raise efficiency and overall effectiveness.
  • Introduce automation and operational tools that support sustainable growth.
  • Track performance through metrics and operational dashboards.
  • Promote ongoing improvement in how the organization operates.

Client Operations

  • Ensure strong operational delivery across the institutional client journey.
  • Improve onboarding, service delivery, and response times.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, openness, and client satisfaction.
  • Support long-term retention through reliable operational execution.

Governance and Compliance

  • Keep operations aligned with company policies and regulatory expectations.
  • Support audits, operational reviews, and compliance efforts.
  • Reinforce transparency and the company’s non-custodial operating model.
  • Encourage ethical conduct and accountability across operations.

Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing operations team.
  • Set clear expectations and strengthen leadership accountability.
  • Contribute to succession planning and senior talent development.
  • Build a culture centered on collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, Engineering, or a similar field is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of senior leadership experience in operations, financial services, fintech, digital assets, or technology-led companies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build scalable operating structures in fast-growing environments.
  • Strong grasp of enterprise operations, governance, operational controls, and business transformation.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication abilities.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scale initiatives.

Preferred Background

  • Exposure to digital assets, blockchain, fintech, or institutional financial services.
  • Understanding of institutional trading operations and non-custodial business models.
  • Experience in regulated or partially regulated financial environments.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise risk management and operational governance.
  • Hands-on experience with workflow automation, ERP, CRM, or business intelligence tools.

Additional Information

This is a full-time exempt position based in New York, USA, with a hybrid and flexible work arrangement. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
