Role Overview
The Senior Vice President of Operational Excellence will own the enterprise-wide design and ongoing refinement of operational systems across global or regional businesses. This executive will build a structured, standardized, and data-led operating model that improves efficiency, lowers costs, and supports long-term growth. The role connects strategy with execution and plays a critical part in turning business priorities into measurable operational results.
Core Responsibilities
- Set the overall operational excellence strategy for the organization and create a consistent management framework and standardization model.
- Align and improve global or regional operating processes to ensure they work cohesively across the business.
- Drive end-to-end optimization across the full value chain, including supply chain, production or delivery, and customer service.
- Lead cross-functional process redesign and transformation efforts to improve responsiveness and execution quality.
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide cost reduction initiatives, while removing process waste and unnecessary resource use.
- Improve cost efficiency at the unit level through better process design and disciplined operating practices.
- Lead digital transformation efforts in operations using systems such as ERP, BI, and AI-enabled platforms.
- Implement real-time operational tracking and analytics to support faster, better-informed decisions.
- Create and maintain an operational governance structure, along with global standards and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote consistent execution across teams and regions.
- Build a company-wide KPI framework covering efficiency, cost, quality, delivery, and related performance measures.
- Continuously review operational results, identify improvement opportunities, and embed continuous improvement mechanisms.
- Coordinate closely with Product, Technology, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and other core functions to deliver strategic outcomes.
- Support major transformation programs, business changes, and implementation of key strategic projects.
- Lead operational excellence teams and PMO structures across global or regional operations.
- Develop a pipeline of operational and management talent while promoting a high-performance, execution-focused culture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher is required.
- Preferred academic backgrounds include Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
- More than 20 years of operations management experience in large organizations is needed.
- At least 8 to 15 years of senior leadership experience is expected.
- Experience in multinational environments or highly complex business structures is preferred.
- Working knowledge of process management, Lean practices, and Six Sigma is preferred.
- Strong analytical ability and a structured, systems-oriented way of thinking are important.
- Experience supporting digital transformation or large-scale organizational change is an advantage.
