Role overview

The Senior Vice President of Operations will own the company’s overall operations strategy and turn it into practical execution. The role is responsible for improving efficiency across the organization, strengthening delivery capabilities, and ensuring resources are allocated effectively so the business can grow in a stable and scalable way.

This leader will manage the full operational backbone of the company, including business operations, process design, delivery and supply chain systems where relevant, cross-functional coordination, and operational support infrastructure. The focus is on operational excellence, cost control, and building a global operating model that can scale with the company.

This position usually reports to the CEO or the COO.

Operational strategy and systems

Build the company’s overall operations strategy and translate it into medium- and long-term plans.

Create standardized, process-oriented, and scalable operating systems.

Improve the operating structure and strengthen collaboration across departments.

Increase efficiency and make better use of organizational resources.

Ensure the operating model stays aligned with the company’s broader growth plan.

Efficiency and execution

Design and refine end-to-end business processes to make execution smoother and more effective.

Improve delivery speed and the quality of implementation across the business.

Advance automation and digital transformation within operations.

Reduce operating expenses and improve return on investment.

Track critical operational indicators and lead ongoing improvements.

Business delivery and process management

Develop and optimize delivery systems for the company’s core business activities.

Ensure products and services move efficiently from requirement gathering through final delivery.

Strengthen coordination between Product, Sales, Technology, and Service teams.

Oversee the pace and quality of important project deliveries.

Set up consistent operational procedures and SOPs.

Supply chain and resource management

Where relevant to the business, improve supply chain operations and resource allocation.

Increase supply chain efficiency, reliability, and resilience.

Manage strategic vendors and external partners.

Identify and reduce operational risks while supporting business continuity.

Improve inventory, delivery, and cost structures according to industry needs.

Data, planning, and decision support

Create a centralized system for operational data tracking and analysis.

Define key performance structures such as KPIs and OKRs for operations.

Monitor delivery quality, efficiency, and cost performance.

Use data insights to improve operational decisions.

Build forecasting and resource planning models to support execution.

Organizational development and continuous improvement

Strengthen the organization’s operational capabilities and process maturity.

Implement continuous improvement practices across the business.

Improve execution quality and collaboration across teams.

Promote a culture of standardized management and operational discipline.

Support company-wide scaling and the rollout of global operations.
