Senior Vice President of Operations

Overview

J.S. Coalter and Associates is seeking a highly experienced Senior Vice President of Operations to lead a 17-unit McAlister's Deli franchise across multiple states. Reporting directly to the CEO and ownership, this senior executive role involves steering operational strategy, driving financial performance, and cultivating leadership talent for sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a multi-year operational strategy, including opening new restaurants, acquisitions, and remodel projects.
• Oversee the full operational profit and loss for all 17 locations, focusing on revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, and cost management.
• Lead District Managers, General Managers, and support teams ensuring consistent compliance with brand standards, food safety, service efficiency, cleanliness, and operational policies.
• Set and monitor key performance indicators such as same-store sales growth, food and labor cost percentages, employee turnover, guest satisfaction, health inspections, and training adherence.
• Build a high-performance culture through executive coaching, succession planning, and leadership development programs.
• Recruit and mentor future senior leaders including Regional Directors and Vice Presidents within the organization.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on workforce planning, compensation strategies, performance management, and boosting employee engagement.
• Support growth initiatives via market analysis, site selection, acquisitions, and franchise compliance, ensuring operational readiness.
• Promote a guest-first mindset enhancing satisfaction scores, reputation management, guest recovery processes, catering, and community involvement.
• Work alongside the marketing team to drive sales growth efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of 15 years in progressive restaurant operations roles, including over 10 years managing multi-unit operations.
• Proven leadership of 15+ restaurant locations with direct oversight of District or Regional Managers.
• Strong financial expertise with multi-million-dollar P&L responsibilities and demonstrated ability to improve EBITDA and same-store sales.
• Experience in franchised restaurant systems preferred; executive experience in quick service or fast-casual dining is advantageous.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Finance, or related field preferred; MBA or advanced degree is highly desirable.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively (50–75%) including evenings, weekends, and provide emergency operational support as required.

Additional Information

• Compensation ranges from $200,000 to $400,000 base salary, with uncapped executive bonuses linked to EBITDA growth and company performance.
