Role Overview

The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Manufacturing Operations oversees the manufacturing strategies and execution to enhance operational efficiency, quality, production scalability, and capacity planning. Reporting to C-level executives, the SVP leads multiple manufacturing sites and aligns operations with growth goals across industries such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, energy, and consumer goods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide manufacturing strategies aligned with corporate goals.
  • Supervise production operations over multiple facilities and business units.
  • Set manufacturing performance benchmarks, KPIs, and standards.
  • Enhance production efficiency, capacity utilization, and operational consistency.
  • Drive accountability and improve plant performance.
  • Lead long-term capacity planning and production forecasting.
  • Manage plant expansions, modernization, and scaling of facilities.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Implement standard operational best practices to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Partner with quality teams to uphold and improve product quality and consistency.
  • Coordinate closely with supply chain and procurement for production continuity and inventory optimization.
  • Oversee manufacturing budgets, cost controls, and capital expenditures.
  • Promote the adoption of automation, AI, and Industry 4.0 technologies for smart manufacturing.
  • Build and develop high-performing leadership teams and succession plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements; establish risk management protocols.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 18 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations and related fields.
  • Proven record managing large-scale operations across multiple sites or business units.
  • Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, operational excellence, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience handling large budgets, capital project planning, and manufacturing transformations.
  • Strong collaboration skills with executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Background in advanced manufacturing, global operations, automation, or complex industrial settings highly preferred.
