Senior Vice President Finance Operations

About the Role

ICON plc, a global leader in clinical research and healthcare intelligence, is seeking a Senior Vice President to lead Finance Shared Services at their headquarters in Dublin, Ireland. Reporting directly to the CFO, this newly established senior leadership role offers the chance to shape the future of finance within a world-class organization employing around 40,000 people across 55 countries with revenues projected at approximately $8.2 billion in 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the largest finance function within the company, covering Accounts Payable & Investigator Payments, Payroll, Billing & Collections, and Project Finance related to clinical trials and customer projects.
• Drive a strategic shift from traditional cost-efficiency towards a world-class shared services model emphasizing quality and operational excellence.
• Champion process standardization, automation, AI-driven finance transformation, enhanced controls, data integrity, global scalability, and sustainable growth initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders and the executive team across a complex global environment to deliver impact and improve finance operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience leading large-scale, global finance shared services organizations that handle high-volume transactional finance processes.
• Deep familiarity with Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay cycles, and finance operations.
• Proven track record in driving transformation initiatives incorporating automation, digitalization, and excellence in process management.
• Effective leadership experience managing geographically dispersed teams and shared service centers.
• Strong commercial insight with the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the business.
• Experience in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), or similarly complex multinational companies is advantageous but not mandatory.
