Job description

Role overview

This contract opportunity is for a Senior Travel & Expense Specialist to support a busy corporate finance and operations function. The assignment starts immediately and runs for 12 months. It is a full-time hybrid position with around 2–3 days a week on site in South Dublin City.

The successful person will take ownership of travel and expense operations, helping keep international business activity running efficiently. The role focuses on accurate processing, policy adherence, reporting, and system support across a global workforce.

Key duties

  • Process employee expense claims and check receipts for correctness and completeness.
  • Match expense submissions against corporate card activity and resolve inconsistencies.
  • Monitor transactions for exceptions, policy breaches, and unusual patterns, then work with employees to correct issues.
  • Build and maintain reports that show spending trends, identify savings opportunities, and support leadership decisions.
  • Act as the main administrator and subject-matter contact for the travel and expense communication channels and system.
  • Support troubleshooting with IT and help test system enhancements or upgrades.

Candidate profile

This role suits a professional who can work independently from day one and bring strong prior experience in travel and expense operations.

Requirements include at least 3 years of dedicated experience in a travel and expense or expense analyst role, plus practical experience with enterprise tools such as Navan, Workday, and AMEX being highly desirable. Strong Excel capability is needed for analysis and reporting, along with the ability to spot discrepancies and financial trends. The role also calls for excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach with stakeholders and audit teams, and strong organisation and time management to handle high volumes within deadlines.

Working arrangement and terms

This is a temporary hourly-paid contract position. Pay is based on experience and is equivalent to approximately €40,000 to €70,000 per year, or €20 to €33 per hour. The role is 40 hours per week, typically 8 hours per day, with hybrid working and 2–3 days onsite.

Eligibility

Applicants must already have the legal right to work in Ireland for the full length of the contract, as visa sponsorship is not available.
