Financial Accountant

Position Overview

We are representing a prominent FMCG organisation seeking a skilled and meticulous Financial Accountant to join their finance division. This opportunity suits a qualified accounting professional eager to contribute in a dynamic and cooperative setting, reporting directly to the Head of Finance. The role is offered initially on a contract basis with the possibility of extension.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts alongside detailed financial reports
• Manage month-end close activities including reconciliations and journal entries
• Perform balance sheet assessments and key profit & loss reconciliations
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow supervision
• Conduct intercompany reconciliations and oversee fixed asset management
• Ensure compliance with VAT, PAYE/PRSI, VIES, Intrastat, and other statutory filing requirements
• Prepare annual financial statements and provide support during audits
• Drive improvements in processes and contribute to financial projects
• Assist with accounts receivable/payable management and track KPI reporting

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified accountant with substantial relevant experience in a similar capacity
• Strong analytical prowess coupled with excellent organizational skills
• Proficient in Excel, demonstrating advanced skill level
• Effective communicator and team player
• Capable of working autonomously with strict adherence to deadlines
• Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
