Key Responsibilities

• Define and steer the technical direction for engineering of mine waste dumps and stockpiles across diverse geological settings.
• Drive advancements in facility design, operational procedures, monitoring, and closure strategies.
• Provide mentorship to emerging engineers, nurturing them into capable technical leaders.
• Develop and maintain strong partnerships with major mining clients and industry stakeholders within the covered regions.
• Represent the organization as an expert at conferences, technical forums, and industry committees.
• Contribute to internal guidelines and external technical publications to enhance practice standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver forward-thinking, safe, and sustainable solutions.
• Identify and pursue business development opportunities to expand the mining practice footprint.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Over 15 years of experience in engineering related to mine waste dumps and stockpiles, across various terrains and project sizes.
• In-depth knowledge of Canadian mining operations, particularly in BC, Alberta, the Prairies, and Northern Indigenous contexts.
• Proven leadership and recognition in professional technical forums, working groups, or industry committees.
• Well-established professional network within the Canadian mining sector.
• Professional engineering license (P.Eng. or equivalent) with eligibility to register in relevant provinces.
• Strong enthusiasm for innovation, mentorship, and raising technical practice standards in mine waste management.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranges vary by region:
• Alberta, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: from $194,700 to $257,900 annually
• Manitoba & Ontario: from $177,600 to $244,600 annually
• New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island & Quebec: from $175,800 to $233,500 annually
• Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, location, and organizational needs.
