About the Company
Mastercard operates across more than 200 countries and territories, helping people, businesses, and governments make secure, easy, and intelligent digital payments. Its wider mission is to support a resilient economy where more people can participate and thrive, powered by technology, partnerships, and innovation.
Role Overview
The Asia Pacific Sponsorships team works to create business and brand value from Mastercard’s sponsorship portfolio. The portfolio spans multiple passion areas, including sport, entertainment, music, travel, art and culture, culinary and dining, philanthropy, shopping, and the environment. The role focuses on turning those assets into strong customer, partner, and consumer value while strengthening the brand’s competitive position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the smooth planning and delivery of sponsorship assets, including events, in-person and digital experiences, and brand ambassador activity, while coordinating with regional and local teams and external agencies.
- Oversee sponsorship packages sold to markets and make sure every component is delivered end to end to the satisfaction of internal stakeholders, external stakeholders, and customers.
- Use compliance systems such as Spotlight and Vivo to help ensure adherence to regulatory, privacy, legal, ethical, and other required standards.
- Keep customer-facing tools, including the marketing portal, updated with the latest asset inventories and requirements.
- Support sourcing and legal teams with documentation needed to onboard new assets, ambassadors, influencers, and similar partners.
- Help execute sponsorship activations from start to finish with internal teams or agency support, under the direction of the Director.
- Track the monetization of sponsorship assets and ensure credits are measured and reported accurately.
- Manage merchandise requests from markets, such as signed golf memorabilia.
- Maintain sponsorship marketing budgets, monitor spending, and recommend corrective actions where needed.
- Prepare regular performance reports, assess campaign outcomes, and suggest how past learnings can improve future programs and valuations.
- Apply a strong understanding of the category and partner ecosystem to recommend how insights should be used.
- Coordinate deliverables and provide guidance to agency partners.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects that require close collaboration across marketing and non-marketing teams.
- Background in sports and entertainment, with exposure to teams, properties, or talent management; experience in Formula 1 or football is an advantage.
- Strong track record of monitoring project budgets and understanding the main cost drivers.
- Ability to run marketing programs, handle marketing assets, and evaluate campaign effectiveness.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective customer engagement strategies and present confidently to senior leaders.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at the same time.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time if needed.
Security Expectations
Anyone working with Mastercard assets, systems, or information is expected to protect confidentiality, preserve data integrity, follow company security policies and practices, report suspected breaches or violations, and complete required security training on schedule.
