About the Role

As a Marketing & Events Specialist at IKIGAI Motors AU, based in Northcote, Victoria, you will lead the planning and execution of our marketing events and community engagements to increase brand presence and customer acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Organize and manage the marketing and events calendar, including open days, meetups, parade appearances, community and charity activations, and delivery celebrations.
  • Oversee event logistics from inception to completion, managing timelines, vendor relations, necessary permits, staffing, signage, setup and teardown, and conducting post-event evaluations.
  • Develop partnerships with local businesses, clubs, and complementary brands through outreach initiatives, including referrals, co-promotional activities, and sponsorship agreements.
  • Assist in customer acquisition efforts by tracking the effectiveness of campaigns and events, recommending promotional offers and messaging, and ensuring smooth lead transfer to sales teams.
  • Coordinate advertising efforts across radio, print, and digital platforms, handling script creation, bookings, budgeting, UTM tracking, and producing straightforward performance reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the content creator to prioritize campaigns, guaranteeing messaging aligns with brand standards and is factual without exaggeration.
  • Maintain the brand’s on-site presentation by managing banners, posters, foyer displays, QR point-of-enquiry materials, and coordinating print-ready artwork with local vendors.
  • Measure and report on key performance indicators monthly such as event attendance, partnership leads pipeline, advertising spend versus generated leads, and insights for future improvements.
  • Act as an official brand ambassador in public settings including council meetings, clubs, media interactions, and partnership discussions.

Candidate Requirements

  • At least three years' experience in event marketing, local brand activations, community or dealership marketing, or partnerships.
  • Exceptional organizational skills capable of managing multiple simultaneous events and marketing campaigns while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing budgets, vendor relationships, and conducting professional B2B communications via phone, email, and face-to-face.
  • Valid Australian driver’s license with the ability to transport promotional materials and signage within Melbourne.
  • Excellent professional communication skills with sound brand judgement for public-facing roles.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends for pre-scheduled events, with advance notice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Melbourne's inner-north community, particularly automotive enthusiasts.
  • Experience managing Meta and Google advertising campaigns or local radio partnerships.
  • Basic graphic design skills with tools such as Canva or Adobe to modify marketing assets as needed.

Hiring Process

  • Submit your resume with portfolio or supporting links (social media, design, video, events, campaigns) including salary expectations.
  • Participate in a phone screening to discuss relevant experience, local market understanding, and teamwork approach.
  • Complete a practical assignment tailored to the role (e.g., event run-sheet, weekly content plan, outreach communication draft).
  • Attend an on-site interview at the Northcote location, tour the showroom and workshop, and discuss brand alignment.
  • If selected, receive a clear offer outlining the start date, working schedule, and initial goals for the first three months.
