Role Overview and Responsibilities
They are seeking a Senior Specialist in Inventory Accounting to enhance finance processes and support reliable decision-making through accurate financial information. This role requires initiative and ownership in managing inventory records and related financial activities. Key duties include tracking and analyzing inventory stock movements, purchases, and consumption; maintaining accurate records in the financial system; verifying inventory costs via standard accounting methods; analyzing cost variances and addressing discrepancies; assisting in establishing and monitoring standard inventory costs; preparing and reviewing journal entries related to inventory; and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. The specialist will also be responsible for generating inventory reports for management and audit purposes and building strong relationships across Commercial, Legal, Accounting, and FP&A teams to facilitate smooth information flow.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Qualified CA or CWA with 4 to 6 years experience, or a Commerce graduate/MBA with a minimum of 12 years experience
- Background in the pharmaceutical industry is advantageous
- Proficient knowledge of US GAAP accounting standards
- Experience working with Oracle Fusion software preferred
- Solid computer skills including expertise in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and financial accounting systems
- Strong analytical ability with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
