Senior Specialist – Inspection

Job Summary

The Senior Specialist – Inspection is responsible for guaranteeing that all authorized marine operations and facilities comply with established regulatory and safety standards through systematic inspections and proactive follow-ups. This role reinforces operational safety, environmental stewardship, and service excellence by pinpointing deviations and proposing corrective measures. The specialist plans and executes inspection schedules, performs thorough analysis of findings, and collaborates extensively with both internal teams and external partners to foster continuous improvements. Additionally, the role aids in optimizing digital inspection platforms and supports regulatory submission processes.

Core Duties

• Organize and execute monthly site visits to verify adherence to regulatory and operational requirements, ensuring inspections align with predefined weekly, monthly, and annual plans.
• Provide direction to field inspectors by disseminating updates on regulations, inspection protocols, and tool utilization to maintain inspection quality and uniformity.
• Critically evaluate inspection documentation for accuracy and completeness, highlighting trends and presenting actionable insights to senior leadership for informed decision-making.
• Regularly revise inspection checklists to reflect evolving regulations and internal policies, ensuring these are updated within the digital Inspection Management System.
• Guarantee compliance with local, national, and international laws; support investigative processes and confirm that remediation actions fulfill compliance standards.
• Assess the inspection team's performance, detect areas for procedural enhancements, and work with partners like Tasneef to address recurring compliance issues through corrective strategies.
• Identify skill gaps among inspection personnel and coordinate targeted training sessions or refresher courses in partnership with the Quality department to elevate inspection standards.
• Embed Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) principles into inspection routines to minimize operational risks and collaborate on incident reviews and procedural updates.
• Work closely with digital transformation teams to pilot, implement, and refine inspection system capabilities, recommending improvements to scheduling, reporting, and data handling workflows.
• Maintain comprehensive records of corrective actions triggered by inspections and liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure ongoing adherence to standards and updated requirements.

Credentials and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Environment, Health, Safety, or a related discipline.
• Certified occupational health and safety professional (examples include NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH certifications).
• Lead Auditor accreditation.
• OSHAD or ADOSH Quadrat certification.
• Proficient in English; knowledge of Arabic is preferable.
• At least eight years of pertinent experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standards governing marine operations.
• Advanced analytical and detail-oriented abilities.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Capable of working autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong ethical values with the capacity to handle confidential information sensitively.
