Job description

Role overview

Jacob Media is looking for a senior social media manager to lead social operations for a major global hospitality account. The work is broad and fast-moving: you will shape channel strategy, build monthly content calendars, oversee publishing, review performance, and continually refine the approach so the brand stays relevant across multiple platforms and a high volume of assets each month.

About Jacob Media

Jacob Media is a social-first storytelling studio made up of creatives, strategists, and producers who work together to deliver standout storytelling on social, guided by cultural insight and audience understanding. The team acts like a true extension of a brand’s in-house function and has partnered with names such as Lamborghini, Etihad, Delta, Sonos, and Bugatti. With teams based in Los Angeles and Dubai, the company stays deliberately lean so it can respond quickly to culture and help shape what comes next.

Role structure

There are three open positions, and applicants must clearly indicate which one they are interested in. One role supports the group’s flagship loyalty brand on a full-time basis. A second supports the hotel brands portfolio full-time. The third covers both areas and begins on August 1. While the core craft is similar across all three, each role has its own brand system, stakeholder setup, and calendar.

What the role involves

You will sit at the center of the account, working with creative to plan the calendar, briefing production, publishing across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube Shorts, and a private Facebook community, and checking performance every day so next month’s plan is smarter than the last. You will also be the person who knows what should go live this week and what each platform is rewarding right now.

This is a client-facing position. You will lead calendar presentations, explain what is being published and why, and work directly within client approval processes. Strong execution is the baseline; the ability to earn the trust of senior global stakeholders is what makes this role senior.

First 90 days

  • Become fully familiar with the brand system assigned to you and take full ownership of the content calendar.
  • Deliver the first full months of always-on publishing across all six platforms.
  • Establish a consistent daily workflow with the creative, community, and analytics teams.
  • Build credibility in client meetings through calendar reviews, approvals, and weekly discussions.

Key ownership areas

  • Own the social calendar and channel strategy for the assigned brand coverage from planning through live execution.
  • Manage daily publishing, scheduling, and live decisions about what should go out and when.
  • Write and deliver creative briefs aligned to the calendar, then coordinate work from idea to final publish-ready asset.
  • Turn brand moments and cultural opportunities into timely, on-brand content in partnership with the creative team.
  • Review performance data with the analytics lead and adjust the approach to strengthen the feed over time.
  • Present the calendar and content to the client and guide assets through approval workflows.

Requirements

Applicants should have at least 6 years of experience managing social media for brands, including senior ownership of a premium global account. You should be comfortable operating at high volume without letting quality drop, and you need to understand how to balance speed with craft.

Strong current knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social formats is essential, along with sound judgment about when to respond to cultural moments. The role also calls for a strong planning mindset paired with hands-on publishing discipline, polished client communication, and comfort using enterprise-level social management and analytics tools.

Preferred experience

  • Managing social accounts across multiple regions and time zones, including Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas.
  • Working with enterprise-scale social listening and community management tools.
  • Having a forward-looking perspective on where social media is heading, not just what is currently performing well.

Contract and working terms

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement, not an employment role. You will invoice for your work, manage your own taxes and insurance, and supply your own equipment. The contract runs through December 31, 2026 and is guaranteed for that period. If the partnership works exceptionally well, there is a real possibility of converting to a W-2 position with Jacob Media in 2027.

The role is remote, but applicants must be based in the United States and available during US working hours. You must also be available for day-to-day support on the account.

The engagement is approximately 40 hours per week, starts immediately for two of the seats, and one split seat begins on August 1.

Additional notes

This opening covers three distinct positions: flagship brand, hotel brands portfolio, and split coverage across both. Applicants must specify which position or positions they are targeting in their application.

US-based contractors only.

Remote work is welcome, provided you can work US hours and remain available for ongoing account needs.
