About the Company and Role

LinkedIn, recognized as the world's largest professional network, is devoted to fostering economic opportunities for professionals globally. Their platform facilitates meaningful connections, skill advancement, and valuable insights daily. The company prioritizes employee development within a culture that values trust, inclusivity, care, and enjoyment, aiming for collective success.

This position is located in Chicago, IL, with possible work arrangements involving hybrid schedules that combine remote work and office presence depending on team needs. It focuses on bridging skill gaps and enhancing processes within the sales framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with senior Deal Desk leadership to identify knowledge, skill, and operational challenges.
  • Analyze the deal lifecycle through data-driven approaches to find skill deficiencies, process inefficiencies, and technology shortcomings prolonging or complicating deal execution.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to improve skill sets and optimize processes, targeting improvements in deal cycle duration, quote precision, approval workflows, and compliance standards.
  • Work alongside an Enablement lead to design broad-scale programs while independently crafting and delivering training, playbooks, workshops, job aids, and reinforcement materials aimed at closing skill gaps and encouraging process adoption.
  • Measure and evaluate the success of skill-development efforts and the return on investment for enablement programs in partnership with Sales Operations and Finance.
  • Engage stakeholders to encourage closure of skill shortages, embrace standardized deal procedures, and employ feedback mechanisms for ongoing enhancement.
  • Partner with senior representatives across Sales, Pricing, Operations, Finance, and Legal departments and build supportive executive coalitions.
  • Leverage enablement and workflow technology tools to monitor knowledge and skills, identify friction points, and promote continual learning reinforcement.
  • Lead change management initiatives by securing alignment, sponsorship, and commitment across functions, ensuring long-term sustainability of new practices and skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of combined experience in Deal Desk, sales operations, sales enablement, process improvement, change management, or consulting roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Preferred: Over 5 years in enablement and at least 3 years experience in Deal Desk, quote-to-cash, or sales operations.
  • Strong executive communication abilities with proven skills influencing leadership without formal authority.
  • Proven capability to work within complex, matrixed, and fast-paced environments, cooperating with diverse stakeholders to implement skills and process initiatives.
  • Extensive background in behavioral/skill enhancement and process change management, particularly within deal execution or quote-to-cash contexts.
  • Proficient in comprehensive data analysis, including pinpointing skill gaps and mapping process flows to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience applying adult learning theories and designing instructional programs focused on skill development and process adherence.
  • Project and program management competence in leading initiatives from conception through completion.
  • Self-reliance in ambiguous situations with the ability to troubleshoot effectively.
  • Analytical skills to dissect complex challenges and formulate solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Confident facilitator and public speaker capable of engaging varied audiences.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI tools including CPQ/deal desk software, Learning Management Systems, project management tools, and advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected annual salary for this role ranges from $117,000 to $190,000, influenced by factors such as experience, expertise, certifications, and work location. The total package may include performance bonuses, stock options, benefits, and other incentive programs.
