Role Overview

The hospital is seeking a Senior Resident specializing in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at its Kanpur location. The role involves assisting in patient care and maintaining the hospital's high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accompany consultants during inpatient ward rounds.
  • Carry out medical procedures under supervision, ensuring informed consent is obtained.
  • Accurately document patient records and medical files.
  • Review and authorize diagnostic test requests.
  • Ensure availability of emergency medications on wards.
  • Supervise nursing care, medication administration, and vital signs recording.
  • Respond to emergencies and notify consultants promptly for further actions.
  • Communicate patient condition updates to attendants when necessary.
  • Regularly review diet plans, medication charts, and vital signs documentation.
  • Collaborate with nursing, paramedical, and support staff to maintain superior patient care.
  • Offer prenatal, natal, and postnatal care and treatment to female patients.
  • Diagnose, treat, and monitor various gynecological diseases and conditions.
  • Conduct routine examinations and follow-up appointments with thorough documentation.
  • Prepare differential diagnoses and develop and update care plans daily.
  • Obtain informed consent clearly and maintain proper discharge summaries.
  • Comply with hospital policies and contribute constructive feedback when needed.
  • Maintain all patient-related medical record documentation according to NABH quality standards.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.

  • Accurate and up-to-date medical record maintenance.
  • Reporting of occupational and environmental concerns to department head.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in MBBS with MD/MS or DNB specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Experience ranging from fresh graduates up to 3 years.

  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with medical equipment related to the specialty.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical quality delivery systems including NABH standards.

  • Internal interactions with consultants, medical superintendent, centre head, front office, nursing, technicians, and support staff.
