Senior Researcher - WHOOP Labs Doha

Job Overview

WHOOP is seeking an experienced Senior Researcher to lead and execute advanced research projects within WHOOP Labs Doha. This role involves coordinating complex multi-site studies including machine learning data collection, sensor validation, and product development initiatives. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Boston WHOOP Labs team to ensure cohesive protocols and support localization efforts for studies conducted in Doha, adapting activities and session structures as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute localized complex research programs as part of broader multi-site data collection concerning machine learning, sensor evaluation, and product development.
• Work directly with the WHOOP Labs Boston team to maintain methodological alignment and consistency across different research locations.
• Adapt research protocols for the Doha site, collaborating with partners to tailor activities, session designs, and participant samples appropriately.
• Lead research projects addressing regional-specific research questions and contribute expertise to global remote studies.
• Create and update detailed project plans, workflows, and deliverables, adjusting to changing priorities and constraints.
• Manage research schedules and dependencies using project management tools to guarantee transparency and timely completion.
• Coordinate with various WHOOP Labs Doha teams such as recruitment, lab management, and fellow researchers to assure seamless study delivery from initiation to conclusion.
• Provide outstanding customer service to visitors at WHOOP Labs Doha.
• Conduct specialized Calibration sessions for WHOOP members visiting the Qatar and WHOOP Labs Doha facilities.
• Serve as a knowledgeable product ambassador, ensuring excellent participant and visitor experiences consistent with WHOOP's brand values.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or professional background in pertinent fields like physiology, biotechnology, exercise science, or related disciplines.
• Between 3 to 5 years of research experience in exercise, performance, health, or comparable settings.
• Excellent customer service and participant engagement skills with a strong human-centered approach.
• Proven project and program management capabilities, comfortably utilizing tools such as Jira or similar platforms.
• Ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and thrive in fast changing, ambiguous environments.
• Motivation to excel in a dynamic, high-intensity startup atmosphere.
• Flexible work schedule availability, including a minimum of two evening shifts per week.
• Fluent spoken and written English, which is the working language at WHOOP.
• Comfortable communicating with local Doha populations in both English and Arabic.
