Job description
Role Overview
Join WHOOP Labs Doha as a Senior Researcher leading multiple physiology and exercise science research projects as part of a multi-location data gathering initiative. You will conduct study sessions, coach participants on movements, ensure protocol adherence, and collaborate closely with WHOOP Labs Boston to tailor protocols and meet project targets.
Key Duties
- Lead and oversee diverse research initiatives in physiology and exercise science tailored to Doha's unique context.
- Conduct participant study sessions with hands-on coaching to support adherence to study protocols.
- Work in partnership with WHOOP Labs Boston team to grasp project objectives, technical constraints, and protocol details.
- Adapt and localize research protocols for Doha execution, including modifying activities and session formats.
- Design and maintain detailed research plans, workflows, and deliverables, adjusting to shifting priorities.
- Use project management tools to manage research programs, dependencies, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Recruitment, Lab Management, and other researchers to ensure smooth study completion.
- Deliver high-quality customer service to all WHOOP Labs Doha participants and visitors.
- Effectively communicate research progress and insights, simplifying complex findings into actionable recommendations.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in fields like research & development, human subjects research, engineering, or physiology.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience conducting research in physiology, performance science, or similar settings.
- Familiarity with AMR, VO2 Max, strength tests, or comparable protocols is highly valued.
- Applied experience with physiology-related research methods including exercise coaching or leading group activities.
- Strong skills in project and program management with proficiency in tools such as Jira or equivalent.
- Ability to juggle multiple research projects in dynamic, ambiguous, and fast-changing environments.
- Motivated to excel in a fast-paced startup culture.
- Proficient in English, both spoken and written, with the ability to communicate in Arabic to engage local participants.
