About the Role
Tesla is searching for a seasoned Senior Real Estate Manager with expertise in retail and industrial sectors to contribute significantly to the company’s expansion. This role involves managing Tesla’s retail, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, office, temporary parking, and energy-related real estate requirements. The manager will collaborate closely across departments—including Sales, Production Control, Supply Chain, Logistics, Energy, Construction, Design, Legal, Finance, and Lease Administration—and interface with external stakeholders like landlords, developers, brokers, and consultants to oversee new site developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the process of selecting sites and negotiating leases for support, parking, and storage facilities.
- Assess economic, demographic, and market information to prioritize strategic locations.
- Partner with internal teams to create business cases and confirm real estate strategies.
- Manage relationships with brokers and landlords, working with the Legal department to negotiate Letters of Intent, leases, and work agreements.
- Ensure adherence to zoning laws and DMV licensing standards across various counties and states.
- Supervise deal schedules, budgets, and property standards through project completion.
- Assist with lease terminations, consolidations, expansions, renewals, and relocations as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Economics, Finance, or comparable experience.
- At least five years of transactional real estate experience, covering leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions for diverse asset categories.
- Strong negotiation capabilities coupled with solid knowledge of real estate and legal concepts.
- Familiarity with preparing and interpreting Pro Forma statements, cash flow models, and deal structures.
- Experience with municipal planning, zoning processes, and site due diligence.
- Competence in demographic and financial data evaluation and executive reporting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
