Job description
About the company
Quobly is a young and rapidly expanding startup founded in 2022. The company works to make universal quantum processors cost-effective enough to tackle problems that are currently beyond reach. It operates from Grenoble’s active, multidisciplinary tech environment and is backed by the CNRS Neel Institute and CEA-Leti, combining research excellence with industry collaboration. As part of its international growth, Quobly is setting up an office in Singapore.
Role overview
Quobly is hiring a Senior Quantum Engineer to be based in Singapore. This role focuses on advancing spin qubit measurement capabilities, improving experimental systems, and helping shape the scientific direction for scaling quantum processors.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the implementation, refinement, and performance tuning of spin qubit measurement methods.
- Work with the software and electronics teams to improve experimental setups.
- Identify long-range scientific challenges and guide PhD students in exploring those topics.
- Help build new quantum features for quantum processors alongside the integration and characterization teams.
- Support the scientific planning needed to scale up the number of qubits.
Collaboration and strategy
- Work with the Technology Director and technical specialists to shape the company’s technology strategy.
- Contribute in an environment that values openness, independence, and teamwork.
- Partner closely with teams across integration, software, characterization, and related functions.
- Help strengthen industrial partnerships with leading research organizations.
What the company is looking for
The ideal candidate has a strong grasp of spin qubit control challenges, including coherent control, calibration, and hardware design. Quobly is looking for someone who enjoys practical experimental work, can develop robust procedures, and is motivated by the challenge of designing complex quantum systems within real-world constraints. A minimum of 5 years of experience in quantum engineering is expected. Candidates who do not meet every requirement are still encouraged to apply if they bring strong experience, curiosity, and drive.
Work environment and additional information
- The company offers a collaborative setting where trust, recognition, and individual contribution matter.
- There is an opportunity to present work at international conferences.
