About the Role

This 2-year contract position offers the chance to work with a state government client based in Melbourne CBD. The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) and Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering and analyzing both business and technical requirements through collaboration with stakeholders, research, and data analysis to define the solution scope and requirements. The role involves ensuring the quality of software throughout the development lifecycle by preparing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and working closely with development teams to achieve high-quality deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and manage detailed test plans and scripts, performing regression and system testing to validate configured solutions.
  • Deliver quality assurance and testing services to verify that all information systems, products, and services comply with organizational standards and meet end-user needs within each release cycle.
  • Conduct comprehensive functional and regression testing, overseeing the testing lifecycle to guarantee the stability and dependability of various platforms including core business, integration, data, IT service management, and customer service platforms.
  • Work jointly with business users and stakeholders to facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT), addressing and resolving identified issues or bugs.
  • Utilize experience with public cloud technologies (AWS), MuleSoft, Kafka, Azure DevOps, Dynatrace, ServiceNow, and comparable cloud-based solutions.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

  • Demonstrated success in managing and executing complex testing campaigns with a comprehensive understanding of Software Quality Assurance (SQA) methodologies and familiarity with the specified technologies.
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum frameworks and comfort in dynamic Agile environments.
  • Strong foundation in structured testing methods, along with knowledge of performance testing and preferably penetration testing on platforms and applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with the capability to identify, isolate, and document software defects in complex features.
  • Customer-centric approach, with an emphasis on understanding client business requirements and providing valuable input to support client objectives.
  • Background in software deployments with strong analytical thinking, effective verbal and written communication, proactive initiative, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to perform visually intensive tasks such as data preparation, transcription, computer use, and extensive reading with clear visual acuity.

  • Location: Melbourne CBD with a hybrid work arrangement.
  • Remuneration: $700 per day plus superannuation.
  • Employment type: Contract for 2 years.
