Job description
Role Overview
Tiaki Wai, a council-owned entity responsible for water services across Hutt Valley, Porirua, and Wellington, invites applications for the role of Senior Project Manager. This position involves overseeing the entire lifecycle of major water infrastructure projects, ensuring timely, quality, and safe delivery while working closely with the Team Leader Project Delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of multiple capital-funded infrastructure projects.
- Maintain adherence to program governance and reporting standards.
- Identify potential project risks and manage escalations effectively.
- Negotiate and define contract scopes, fostering value-driven supplier agreements.
- Promote a robust health and safety culture throughout each project phase.
- Mentor and support the growth of junior project managers within the team.
Candidate Profile
- Possess a tertiary degree in Civil Engineering, Process Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
- Bring 5 to 10 years of experience managing complex infrastructure or engineering projects.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of project management methodologies and delivery frameworks.
- Exemplify strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
- Exhibit commercial acumen and proficient risk management capabilities.

Additional Information
This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours weekly based in Petone, Wellington, providing a beachside office environment close to local amenities. The total remuneration package ranges from NZD 108,644 to NZD 165,316 annually (inclusive of KiwiSaver), depending on experience and skillset.
