Job description

Role overview

A leading financial services organisation in Dublin is looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager to steer major business change and transformation work. The position calls for someone who can combine strong project delivery capability with hands-on business analysis skills to move strategic initiatives forward across several teams and stakeholders.

What you will do

  • Own delivery of major transformation programmes from initial setup through implementation and the handover into day-to-day business operations.
  • Control scope, schedules, budgets, staffing, risks, dependencies, and governance across the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts, technology teams, and external suppliers to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Run workshops, stakeholder discussions, and decision sessions to maintain momentum and alignment.
  • Collect, analyse, and record business needs, user stories, process maps, and functional specifications.
  • Plan and coordinate testing activities, including user acceptance testing, defect resolution, and final business approval.
  • Prepare status reports and provide regular progress updates to sponsors and senior leaders.
  • Contribute to change management activities such as communications, training, stakeholder engagement, and adoption planning.
  • Spot opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency across business areas.
  • Keep project documents accurate, current, and well organised throughout delivery.

Experience and skills required

  • At least 7 years of experience delivering large business transformation, change, or technology programmes.
  • Proven track record of managing complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders, workstreams, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong business analysis background, including requirements gathering, process mapping, documentation, and workshop facilitation.
  • Ability to handle project risks, dependencies, governance, and reporting in a structured way.
  • Experience working with Agile, Waterfall, or blended delivery models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build buy-in at all levels.
  • Experience coordinating testing and supporting successful deployment of solutions.
  • Clear communication, strong presentation ability, and confident facilitation skills.
  • Comfort working independently while juggling multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.

Desirable background

  • Experience with HR transformation, business process improvement, or enterprise change programmes.
  • Prior work in financial services or another heavily regulated sector.
  • Scrum Master certification or practical experience delivering in Agile environments.
  • Exposure to business process optimisation and operational transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of reporting, data analysis, and management information frameworks.
  • Experience with enterprise software rollouts and third-party technology vendors.
  • Hands-on change management and organisational readiness experience.

Education

A bachelor’s degree or similar third-level qualification in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related subject is required. Professional credentials such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or an equivalent project management certification are considered an advantage.
