Senior Production Specialist

About the Role

Ecolab, a global leader in premium cleaning, sanitizing, and maintenance solutions for hospitality, institutional, and industrial sectors, is looking for a Senior Production Specialist to lead and manage a production shift. This shift oversees operations including preparation (mixing), filling, packaging, and tote washing. The role demands versatility with the ability to perform virtually all production tasks except material handling, mixing, and bulk goods logistics.

Responsibilities

• Input accurate production data into the warehouse management system.
• Report any damages or discrepancies for proper accounting and documentation.
• Propose and implement initiatives to enhance productivity metrics such as Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), product quality, and workflow efficiency while minimizing downtime.
• Apply TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Communicate proactively with relevant department leaders regarding maintenance requirements, quality concerns, or safety issues influencing performance.
• Facilitate training for team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment following Good Housekeeping practices specifically for plant and blender areas.
• Perform inventory control tasks including regular cycle counts for the production department.
• Ensure equipment upkeep through cleaning, testing, and inspections.
• Adhere strictly to operational and safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices daily.
• Manage SAP tasks such as opening/closing process orders and timely label printing.
• Conduct proper shift handovers to maintain continuity.
• Lead and manage the shift safely and efficiently in accordance with the production plan.
• Review preparation, filling, and packaging instructions before production runs.
• Verify availability of correct raw and packaging materials.
• Oversee operations including loading lines, labeling, mixing, filling, capping, barcode generation, sampling, and housekeeping.
• Engage actively in Kaizen projects, 5S, TPM, loss analysis, and other special initiatives.
• Document quality and productivity measurements accurately and timely, including weights and basic quality tests, entering data into relevant logs and computer systems.
• Follow safety, quality, and production work instructions, memos, and SOPs consistently.
• Assist with production line changeovers, including water wash collection tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum three years' experience in a chemical plant or warehouse setting.
• At least two years' experience handling reaction chemistry.
• Basic proficiency in English reading and writing.
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook.
• Competency in basic mathematics including operations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages.
• Forklift driving capability.
• Must meet physical job requirements including the ability to lift 50 pounds and pass drug screening and physical exam.

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with SAP software.
• Experience with SCADA systems.
• Basic skills for operating and maintaining packaging, filling, and mixing equipment.
• Time management skills, attention to detail, communication abilities, and teamwork focus.
• Capability to undertake and master required job training such as Hazardous Material Safety and DOT training.
• Ability to monitor and interpret safety, quality, and productivity data including run rates and fill weights.
• Experience with Total Productive Maintenance and Continuous Improvement frameworks.
