About the Team
The Consumer Apps team manages Roku’s essential user-facing applications, including The Roku Channel and the Roku Mobile App. Their scope covers Roku devices and third-party platforms, enhancing customer discovery, streaming, and engagement across the Roku ecosystem at significant scale. This team collaborates closely with Engineering, UX, Content, Data, and Business units to create seamless, engaging experiences that fuel growth.
Role Overview
The Senior Product Manager for The Roku Channel on Roku OS is accountable for the streaming service's experience on Roku’s primary platform. This role demands a product leader focused on customer needs, skilled in discovery and engagement strategies, and proficient at balancing viewer satisfaction with content and monetization objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Roku Channel roadmap for Roku OS, spanning discovery, navigation, content details, and engagement pathways.
- Ensure excellence in streaming service design by identifying frictions and opportunities affecting time-to-content, selection rates, and repeat usage, aligning viewer delight with business priorities.
- Set priorities based on viewer data, content strategies, company goals, and analytics to deliver impactful features.
- Adopt a data-driven approach by defining KPIs, forming hypotheses, executing experiments, and tracking engagement, retention, and monetization metrics.
- Work closely with UX to craft intuitive, narrative-rich, and personalized experiences.
- Partner with Engineering to translate strategies into detailed PRDs, align milestones, and ensure quality, timely feature delivery.
- Support programming and merchandising by collaborating with Content Strategy teams to translate key launches and campaigns into scalable merchandising formats.
- Collaborate with Recommendations and Personalization teams to harmonize editorial curation with machine-learning-driven discovery and experimentation.
- Coordinate with the Search team to enhance Roku Channel content discoverability across various search interfaces.
- Continuously monitor and optimize product performance using dashboards, cohort analyses, and content-specific insights.
- Communicate clearly to align stakeholders and present tradeoffs and decisions with concise, executive-level clarity.
Qualifications
- Over 8 years of product management experience with growing scope and cross-functional leadership.
- Proven background in streaming services (AVOD/SVOD/FAST), handling customer journeys and driving business results.
- Successful track record improving discovery, retention, and engagement through merchandising and personalization strategies.
- Experience collaborating with Content and Programming teams to convert content objectives into scalable product features.
- Comfortable working alongside machine learning and recommendations teams, balancing editorial and personalization needs.
- Strong analytical skills in KPI definition, measurement planning, and data-driven product iteration.
- Excellent product intuition and user experience understanding for content-heavy interfaces.
- Technical proficiency with APIs, data pipelines, experimentation frameworks, and client performance aspects.
- Outstanding communication and leadership abilities across multifunctional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree required; technical degrees are advantageous.
- Interest or experience with generative AI technologies.

The role supports hybrid working with most employees attending office Monday through Thursday and flexibility on Fridays, subject to role specifics. Compensation in California ranges from $176,000 to $302,700 annually, influenced by skills, certifications, and location.
