Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-focused Senior Product Analyst to join a dynamic Product and Operations team based in South Melbourne, VIC. This full-time role involves a hybrid working arrangement with one day of remote work each Monday and requires Mandarin language proficiency. The role centers around creating and maintaining robust KPI frameworks, detecting performance trends and anomalies early, and delivering actionable insights to boost retention, conversion rates, engagement, and revenue growth within a fast-moving digital product environment.

Working Hours & Location

The position adheres to work hours between 10:00 am–6:00 pm or 11:00 am–7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, on-site at South Melbourne with the flexibility of remote work on Mondays.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive annual salary ranging from $100,000 to $130,000 with slight negotiation possibilities for exceptional candidates.
  • Biannual performance bonuses paid in June and December, prorated by start date.
  • Transport allowance of $20 per day when working full office hours until 7:00 pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee product metrics frameworks including dashboards, KPI definitions, and automated monitoring alerts.
  • Continuously supervise daily performance metrics to quickly identify irregularities and emerging trends.
  • Conduct thorough root-cause analyses on movements in key business metrics such as conversion, retention, ARPU, payments, and campaign impacts.
  • Produce detailed weekly and monthly performance reports along with deep-dive analyses for leadership teams.
  • Undertake independent analytical projects focusing on funnel analysis, cohort behavior, and campaign incrementality assessments.
  • Construct analytical models like lifetime value (LTV), conversion pathways, and churn prediction, utilizing SQL and Excel/Power BI, with Python or R as advantageous tools.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to convert complex data insights into clear, prioritized strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure consistent metric definitions and reporting standards are maintained throughout teams.
  • Incorporate AI technologies where appropriate to accelerate analysis and enhance documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in product analytics, growth analytics, or data analysis focusing on B2C digital or mobile product environments.
  • Advanced SQL skills and proficient use of Excel and Power BI or equivalent analytical tools.
  • Experience with product analytics software such as Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Google Analytics 4 (GA4).
  • Good grasp of funnels, cohort analysis, retention metrics, and experimentation methodologies.
  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and an effective communicator.
  • Mandarin language ability is mandatory.
  • Must have full Australian working rights.

Preferred Additional Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Python or R for sophisticated data analysis and predictive modelling techniques.
  • Background in industries such as gaming, fintech, marketplaces, subscription services, or online betting.
  • Exposure to products that serve multiple geographic regions or emerging markets.
  • Experience in providing ongoing analytics support to Product Operations or Campaign teams.
