Job description

Role overview

This position sits within Forensic Science Queensland and focuses on leading medium-value procurement activity, supplier contracting, procurement guidance, and related information services. The role is expected to support business outcomes while ensuring all work aligns with the Queensland Procurement Policy 2026 and other applicable governance requirements.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the full procurement cycle, from preparing and coordinating sourcing documents through to running release and evaluation steps, then negotiating, establishing, administering, and managing contracts.
  • Create supplier agreements that connect contract obligations with delivery KPIs so contract performance can be monitored and improved over time.
  • Meet Department of Justice reporting duties by completing contract disclosure reports accurately and on time, and by keeping procurement and contract records current in VendorPanel.
  • Provide timely, accurate, high-level procurement and contract management advice to clients, including support across a wide range of spend categories such as general goods and services and ICT.
  • Keep detailed records of procurement actions, decisions, and contract arrangements so the audit trail remains complete for probity, accountability, and audit review.
  • Use procurement delegation authority for sourcing activities and confirm that the process followed departmental procedures and the Queensland Procurement Policy 2026.
  • Help maintain strong professional standards by staying informed about current procurement methods, policy settings, practices, government priorities, and initiatives that affect procurement work.
