About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Senior Patient Access Officer to join the Patient Access team at the Lister Hospital Outpatients in London, rotating between 280 Kings Road, 272 Kings Road, and 102 Sydney Street, Chelsea. This position is full-time, requiring 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday, with varied shifts scheduled between 7:45am and 8pm, thus flexibility to cover these hours is essential. The role comes with a permanent contract.
In this capacity, you will support the Patient Access Leader in managing and enhancing the quality and responsiveness of the Patient Access Department's services. You’ll play a vital supervisory role, overseeing daily operations and providing clear guidance to colleagues, ensuring the highest standards of patient service are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain excellent standards in all administrative duties within the department.
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources and supplies to effectively perform their tasks.
- Verify that patients fulfill HCA eligibility criteria for financial settlement, whether they are sponsored or self-funded.
- Seek guidance from Patient Access Manager or Leaders for complex queries.
- Oversee patient waiting areas to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist in staff scheduling and rota management to prevent any service gaps.
- Undertake supervisory tasks within the team as needed.
- Support Patient Access Officers with complex issues.
- Step in for the Patient Access Leader when required.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven prior experience in patient access or a similar administrative position is required.
- Demonstrable supervisory experience in comparable roles is also essential.
- Strong numeracy and communication abilities.
- Proficiency with IT systems.
- A good grasp of basic medical terminology.
